iVT Magazine: 20 Ways To Reduce Emissions - Other Vehicle Components

May/June 2008

ComeSys featured in iVT's selection of top tips on engine and vehicle design that will help reduce fuel consumption and pollution.

iVT Magazine May/June 2008 - ComeSys Cooling System

iVT text: There are many ancillaries on engines that could be refined to reduce parasitic losses. Take cooling: ComeSys is developing a system which does away with a large belt-driven fan, replacing it with smaller, electrically powered units. These are switched on and off depending on the cooling requirements, increasing overall efficiency. Economy improvements could range from 10 - 35%.

Industrial vehicle engines also power items such as compressors and hydraulic pumps - as the design of these devices improves, there is further scope for emission reduction.
